  1. Thank you for this article. I have been thinking about trying to promote my site on Facebook. i haven’t yet as I am not sure it will serve a purpose in my favor.
My profile is private. I don’t want strangers to see my family or friends. This is where my issue is. I know that none of those on my page have interest in site. Is there a way that I can promote on Facebook without involving my family and friends or allowing strangers to see my family and friends?
Your article was very informative and answered all my questions except for that one.
    Thank you

  3. Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing all your tips. I definitely learned new techniques reading your article.
I especially liked the fact that I could personally share my own work on my personal Facebook page. I didn’t think about it. I have a pro Facebook page and post my articles there, but posting them on my personal page was something I didn’t think of. Probably obvious, but it didn’t cross my mind.
Moreover, I agree with you, I think that affiliate marketing is far from being dead! There’s a place of all of us 🙂
Thank you, have a great day!

    1. Hi Julien, You are very welcome and thank you for your comment. I always share my posts on my personal facebook page as well as on my page that has been set up for my site. I know that some people don’t like to share their posts on their own page but I know that there are people who are on my personal page that don’t follow my Become Wealthy page for my site so at least they are still getting to see what I am doing. Pleased to see that you also were able to learn something new from the post.

Thank you and have a great day too.

  4. Facebook is an awesome venue for getting your niche content out there. Maybe I just don’t know how to do it right, but I’m not sure how to get more followers without boosting a post or paying for an ad. I’ve had a page for awhile now but am really trying to buckle down and add each post now. Do you recommend posting more than your blog pages? Or posting more than once every day or two?

    1. Hi Lisa, I am much like yourself in that I only really post to facebook when I have completed my posts and published them. One thing I do is that I share my posts on both my facebook timeline and on my page that I have set up especially for my site. Boosting and creating ads once in a while are good for letting people see your site. I think that you are doing great and you should just keep doing as you are doing.  Thank you very much for your comment Lisa.

  5. Great post. Lays out Facebook marketing very well.
I’ve been using Facebook ads for quite a while and the trick to advertising is to make sure you test your ads.
Don’t get too carried away with them and spend allot of money until you are sure they are performing.
Facebook ads are diffidently a good way to gain followers if you have something of interest to people.
I put one facebook page together and ran a small ad just for the page and was getting 1,500 new likes a day.

All the best to your success!

    1. Hi Wayne, thank you very much for your comment and I liked how you complimented that the post lays out facebook marketing well.

I totally agree with your recommendations for using the facebook ads. They can be very good for your site if they are done properly and it is always essential to test them first. You don’t have to spend lots of money on them for them to work for you.

  6. Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for these great tips on how to start affiliate marketing on Facebook.
I am still really new to Facebook and definitely still learning the ropes about personal pages and business pages etc.
I really like your tip that “images are the key” and I am definitely trying to add more visual appeal to all my work. You mentioned paying for Ad’s on Facebook is a great way to go. I have also heard that you can pay a lot of money and not get very much traffic to your website. What has your experience been like?

    1. Hi Glenys, thanks very much for your comment and I am pleased to see that you liked the tips for starting affiliate marketing on Facebook. I don’t have any business pages for my sites, I have pages that I have created within my own personal facebook page that I use. I have used the ads in facebook and have to say that they have brought in new viewers to my sites but you really have to watch what you are doing when you set them up. The first one I created cost me rather a lot because I didn’t pay attention to what I was doing. I soon learned to make sure I double checked what I put before pressing that last button. I certainly wouldn’t say they are not worth using but don’t do them too regularly. I tend to only do one at a time.

  7. Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for the post, really interesting and insightful. Whilst I have a facebook page for my business and try to drive organic reach with my posts, I haven’t tried ads yet. Do you think all the current negative publicity Facebook has faced will make a difference to people trying to advertise within their site?

    1. Hi Mike, thanks very much for your comment and I was pleased to see that you found the post interesting as well as insightful. I have tried a couple of the Ads and have to say yes the do make a difference. I did get caught out the very first time and it cost me a lot of money but it was my mistake and I did learn from it. In light of the recent negative publicity with Facebook, I know that I will still do the occasional ad but I am not sure if people will be so willing to advertise on their sites quite so readily. I do think it will maybe make a difference at the moment but don’t think it will be a long term issue but I could be wrong.

  8. This is a great article on how to start affiliate marketing on facebook. I’d never considered marketing on facebook before so reading this post has given some really wonderful guidance on where and how to start for the greatest chance of success. For that I am grateful that you shared this post.

  9. Hi cheryl, your post is an exhaustive and very informative piece. I’m a struggling affiliate marketer who has been scammed by various platforms promising big pay with lesser work rate. Though, I make use of Facebook as a means of marketing but it hasn’t been yielding the expected results. I’ve also run paid facebook ads still, its not been working out. Can you please give me a better insight on how to maximize the Facebook ads to generate enough traffic to my blog.

    1. Hi Roger, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have been trying to find out some information for you on maximising the Facebook Ads. Thanks very much for your comment and when I checked with Facebook I noticed and not sure if you know that you can now make an actual video advert for your site or your contents you may be selling. You can do this in four different versions which I think are very good. You can also set up ads with Facebook where they will place ads that are relevant to your what your site is about. You only have to answer some questions regarding what your business or site is and Facebook does the rest. I am not sure if you may have already tried any of them but if not, then they may be worth a try. I hope this is a help to you.
